Back to School!!!

Harley and Cierra had their first day of school yesterday. They were very excited. Harley is now in 7th grade and Cierra is in 5th grade. Harley is excited that now she is a 7th grader they no longer have to sit on the gym floor when they have assemblies, now they get to sit in the bleachers. It's funny the things they get hyped up about. Last year it was the fact that she could now wear flip flops to school because the elementary school doesn't let kids wear flip flops to school because they are running and playing on the playground. Cierra is REALLY looking forward to that one. My girls live in flip flops!!

Now that Cierra is in 5th grade she gets to go to Camp Wooten in March. That's the big event for 5th graders at Jason Lee Elementary. Jim Ryder, a 5th grade teacher, is one of the first people to start the program some 30 years ago! I went to Camp Wooten when I was in 5th grade, and had Mr. Ryder as a 5th grade teacher! It is such a fun experience for these kids. Last year I had the privilege of attending camp as part of the teaching staff. That was loads of fun and I would go every year if I can. I'm still trying to figure out the plan for this year since I will have a 3 month old at that time. Cierra REALLY wants me to go with her since I went with Harley for two years. Once in 5th grade and once in 6th grade as a TA for camp. So I have lots of planning to do to figure that one out, or Cierra will disown me forever, ha ha.

Mason and Spencer have a couple of days before they start school. The starting of Kindergarten at Jason Lee is a slightly long process. Long story short, orientation on Friday and then his first official day will be Tuesday. He's very pumped about Kindergarten and he has an awesome teacher!! Spencer will have preschool orientation on Wednesday for an hour and then his first day is on Friday. It will be nice to have a few mornings all to myself, until Christmas anyway. :) I have a little tradition of getting first day of school pictures of my kids. I think they get annoyed! But at least I didn't take a picture of Cierra IN her classroom like I normally do on the first day. She's lucky she's a Peer Helper at Jason Lee. She needed to be at the school early so she could help other kids find their classrooms so I had to leave her and get on with my day. An of course Harley's off the hook for the classroom pictures.
Cierra and Harley. Oops, Harley blinked!
Look, that's better, she actually has eyes.

Cierra donning her usual pink attire. Although I don't know if this qualifies for a "pink outfit" there really isn't much pink today. But notice that back pack :)

This Kid is Bored!!!

Talk about time to go back to school!! Spencer and Mason seem to be "at it" all the time lately. They are really getting bored at home and are more than ready to go back to school. Spencer and Mason have a couple more days until they start Kindergarten and Preschool. Yeah for Mommy!!!
So in between antagonizing his sisters and Mason this is what Spencer found for himself to kill the time. What a wacko!

Busy Summer

Wow, I think I've been busy this summer! I was asked to be the YCL (Youth Camp Leader) Leader for girls camp, which was in July. There are many, many meetings that go along with that and trying to get all the girls together and make sure they are doing what they are supposed do be doing was a good challenge! That occupied most of my time up until camp. Now that camp is over I can just let out a big sigh of relief. It was a fun week at camp though. I had a GREAT group of girls and they were awesome at camp. I kept hearing all week how everyone loved my YCL's and thought they were doing a great job. This years camp theme was Journey to Higher Ground and everything was western. We were the YCL Posse.

Since Harley is 12 she was able to go also. She had a great time too. She was lucky to have her good friend Sarah come back home for the summer and go to girls camp with her! I knew she would have a great time. We love to go camping as a family so I had no worries about her.

Since I am pregnant Alex had to (got to) go with me to camp also. He also had a good time. Somehow my YCL's convinced him to let them paint a target on the back of his head. They got a kick out of that!

If any of you didn't know, I'm expecting my 5th baby. I'm about 19 weeks right now and I'm feeling great! I'm pretty lucky to have easy pregnancies. I was a tiny bit sick at the very beginning with this one but it's all gone now. I think I have started to feel a tiny bit of movement the last week or so. It will be fun when my kids can start to feel the baby kick. I have a ultrasound next week and and I'm planning on taking Harley and Cierra with me. After that we'll start picking out a name. I haven't even given it any thought yet. Both of my sisters are pregnant also! That makes it more fun to have cousins very close in age!

My next project I have gotten myself into is doing a scrapbooking project for a big Tri-Ward Super Saturday at church. I made an acrylic album and people can sign up and pay to make it. As soon as we start getting sign ups then I'll have to start making kits like mad! It's pretty easy though and I have people who are willing to help me cut out paper too.
