My Late Night Project

So one night I was sitting here at the computer visiting the CKMB and I thought I was too tired to do any scrapping. I hung out there for a while and then I decided, what the heck, it's already late, I might as well make a night of it. Plus, my husband was working out of town so I didn't have to worry about him wanting me to come to bed.

I decided to make this little acrylic album. I had purchased the Bind it All not too long ago and some pre-cut acrylic squares at the same time. I just had to put them to use!! So this little album is just a few of the things I love. I haven't put pictures in yet because I want the pictures to be just right so I'm making sure I have just what I want before I stick them in. I'm thinking maybe black and white.
All the papers are from the Old World DCWV stack. The flowers are from Bazzill. Rubons are from American Crafts and some from CK. The flourish stamp is from Autumn Leaves.
Sorry that the pictures aren't that great. :)

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter Everyone!!! We had a great day at our house. Easter is definitely more fun when you have kids, that's for sure! It's so much fun doing all the fun Easter thing with my kids. Egg coloring, Easter Baskets, everything. I had to stay up late last night getting all the Easter preparations done. It's kind of like Christmas, stay up after the kids are in bed to get things ready for the next day. I had to fill plastic eggs and get baskets ready for the Easter Bunny. This morning I could have skipped church all together since I'm not feeling too hot. I just came down with a cold and am feeling horrible. But as you know, a mother never gets to stop! So I sent my kids off to church with my husband and he came back and got me and I went late.

After church we headed over to my parents house for the big gathering of all my brothers and sisters and their kids. We love to be able to hang out with everyone. All the little cousins always have so much fun together out in Grandma's back yard. Following our delicious feast we always have, we got all set up for the egg hunt. Moms and kids in the front yard and Dads in the back yard to hide all the eggs. Then youngest to oldest we let the kids in the back yard to hunt for eggs. It's always a riot to see where the guys have hidden the eggs. This year there was even an egg on the roof, just out of reach of my daughter standing on the picnic table!
Now, you may think I'm done, well, no. Then in the evening we were off to the other Grandma's house for anther Easter meal. I was so full from my 1:30pm lunch (and dessert) that I really wasn't even hungry. I felt bad for my Mother-in-Law, none of my kids or I weren't even hungry and we hate very little! I don't think I'll be hungry until lunch the next day!
Hope everyone had a great Easter!

My daughter had to climb a tree to get some eggs down that her Uncles had "hid" up there.

All the cousins minus two. One wasn't in the mood (he's 1yr old) and one wasn't there.
What a good looking bunch of kids! 14 Cousins all under the age of 12.

The Big Clean-Out!!

Let the cleaning begin!! When we bought our house six years ago it was just the right size. Well, almost the right size, kitchen's always been a bit small. Anyway, that was with 2 girls and a brand new baby boy, now we have 2 girls and 2 boys and I feel like we are bursting at the seams. I have been without a craft room or craft "area" for a very long time and that is about to change. Yippeeeee!!! The previous owners used this room as a computer room. It's shared witht he water heater and the heat pump. When we moved in we also used it as a computer room for quite a while. Then when our girls got old enough to start using the computer we needed the computer to be upstairs where we could monitor it. Now this room has beocme the collect all room. You all know what I mean!!

We are in the process of taking our LONG family room downstairs and making it into a smaller family room the other half into a bedroom for our oldest. Needless to say, she is very excited!!!! She's never had her own room. So I have been given the task of cleaning out the downstairs in preparation of pulling down dry wall and pulling up carpet to do work down there. What a job!!! It's like packing up to move, really is a pain in the you know what. But I'm getting close...finally.

So back to the computer room. This will become my scrap room!!! I know, not real big but I'll take it. After a couple of years of having to take up the dining room table I'm ready for my own space. I'll probably keep the upper cabinets and get rid of that built in desk with cabinets and get my own table to fit in there. So here's the before pictures and when I get all done and moved in I'll post the after pictures. Hopefully it won't take long. Hubby is in charge of the whole remodle, bedroom, scap room etc. So we'll see how long it really takes. Wish me luck!

Spencer's Little Book

So for my LATE Birthday gift from my husband I went and got myself a Bind-it-All. Can I just say that it is sooooo much fun!!!! It really is easy to use! When I bought it I also got some squares of acrylic already cut. Right away I started punching holes in everything!!! My kids were punching holes in everything also. This is a little book I made for my little Spencer, who is almost 4. Just a simple little book for him to have so I didn't put too many embellishments on it. After he looked at it and showed it to his Daddy he took it in his room. I followed him in and asked what he did with his book and he made some comment about not wanting anyone to get it. Well, he didn't really seem to care as much as me, it was thrown on the floor in front of his bookshelf. I'm going to have to teach that boy the way to handle scrapbook things I have made. Hence, the reason I didn't make it too fancy! Anyway, the pages of the book are made from the dividers from my Cropper Hopper paper holders. I never use them as dividers and found many other uses for them. The paper is from DWVC Old World. The rub-ons didn't work too well, they were on the rough side of the plastic so they don't look very smooth.

I'm such a cheater!!!

While I was at CKC Portland I decided to join a club. Originally I didn't think could scrap enough to keep up with a monthly kit. I had looked at a couple different companies and decided that I would join SEI's club. I get a kit every other month, so that's not too bad. I really liked that they will send me an email to let me preview the kit so I can decide if I want it or not so that I don't have to send it back once I get it. The other reason I decided to do SEI was to get caught up in my scrapping!!! I have been trying to catch up on quite a few years. Their kits are so easy to put together and I can just plop the pictures in and add my own stuff if I want. So, yes, I'm a cheater! This was the first album I got to pick from at their booth when I joined their club. It's a "through the year" type of album. There's a double page LO for each month. It literally only took me a couple of hours one night to put all the pages together and a couple of hours another night to put the pictures in. Now I just finished one whole year!! Wooo-hooo!!! And even if I keep getting the kits but don't want to use them they are easy enough that my girls could use them if they want. Here are just a few pages out of my "cheater" album.

CKC Portland Goodies!

I had so much fun at CKC Portland! This was my second year going. I sure wish I hadn't missed so many years before that. My good friend Janel was able to come this year and it was a blast to shop with someone! We just seem to feed off of eachother. We were even late to a class on account of shopping. Ooops. You know how time flies when you're having fun!

Isn't this just the cutest pink box? We both had to come home with one of these babies! It is full of card making stuff. We got it at the CK booth for only $20. There's card kits for all occations, envelopes, stickers and a few embellies and dividers for all types of cards. Plus, all the dividers have cute little sayings on them that will help in the sentiments for the insides of the cards. Now that's what I need! But wait...there's more. We also got a very cute 8x8 matching pink album AND a 4x6 pink album! What a deal!! How could we pass that up? So now I have some card making to do. Need to get that baby filled up. I'm sure it will hold quite a few cards.

See that cute pink and green check on the inside of that album? That's what the inside of the box looks like. Too cute!! I'll probably end up giving that pink album to my daughter, the pink freak! She went gaga over that box!!

So remember that class I was late to since I was shopping with my buddy (at Embellish It!) well, this is what we managed to make at that class. We got it done inspite of being late. I can't take credit for the design, that goes to Awesome Albums. I really enjoyed making this clear album becasue I haven't gotten into that whole acrylic thing. Oh, and not for lack of wanting to! Mommy duties call. But now, there will be no stopping me. Plus, I just made a fun purchase that will really help me in my quest to create cute albums. That's for another post. So check back.

The Popsicle Tree?

If you are wondering where that name came from then you probably haven't paid close attention to my last name. Since it usually goes that direction (popsicle) then I might as well run with it, right? Now, I feel like I am the worlds worst person at coming up with catchy titles and names so when I thought of this I thought it was perfect. I happened to be sitting here browsing some other blogs when it hit me "Popsicle Tree." Yep, that's the one!! Since my blog will be about my family (family tree) and scrapping of course, then I figured it was perfect. And a little catchy if I do say so myself.

Hey look!! I'm blogging!

Well, after much thought (or was it procrastination?) I have finally created my blog. It just looks like so much fun. There's a certain someone who gave me a little bit of a hard time for not having one yet and she couldn't "spy" on me. So I guess now I have to keep it up. But don't check up on me too often. I can't promise new stuff every day ya know!
