Costume Preview

Here are the products of my sewing labors. It's nice to have them all complete!! Harley went to her first church Halloween dance tonight. It's hard to believe she's old enough for that!! She's so cute. The boys are both being Nights, they have helmets and swards also. Love the dollar store! Then there's Cierra's. I'm just so proud of myself for the way her Bomber Cheerleader outfit turned out. Isn't it awesome!

Nursing Cover

*Edited*
Here's the other one, showing the pocket on the inside.
Okay, here it is! It took me less than an hour to sew this last night. They are super easy!! I wish I would have had one of these with all my other kids too! There's a pocket on the backside to hold a binky or a nursing pad. I have fabric to make another one also.

The sewing spree

So after sewing 4 Halloween costumes I decided that I hadn't had enough. I made two blankets for the baby and one each for Mason and Spencer. I also took some leftover fabric and sewed a couple of strips on a burp clothe, it looks really nice. Every time we made a trip to the fabric store Mason begged for me to make him another blanket. So when JoAnn's had snuggle flannel for $2.99 a yard I decided that was a good time. And they love them! Tonight I made a nursing cover. I'll get a picture on eventually.

Picture Help

Okay, so I seem to be having an issue with getting pictures where I want them on here. The Preview looks nothing like what shows up after I post it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Volleyball is over!

Okay, as much as I love volleyball....I'm glad we are done. Poor Harley seems to have so much homework and a small issue with time management and paying attention to what she needs to do. All this translates into me staying up late with her while she gets her homework done. If I'm going to stay up late it's going to be on my own terms. Ha ha. How am I supposed to have that "mommy snack" if she's still up? If I go to bed without her she would be up all night. So now that volleyball is over, late night homework should be minimal!

Tagged!

3 Joys

1. That quiet time to myself when all my kids are in bed and I eat some chocolate all by myself.
2. Listening to Spencer whistle. Today we watched Robin Hood. All afternoon he was whistling that tune. Funny boy!
3. When Mason and Spencer play all day together and have so much fun. I love it when they get along!

3 Fears

1. I share this one with Allie. Getting to my OB appointment and finding out there's something wrong. Never happened, hope it never will.
2. I've always been afraid of my house catching on fire in the middle of the night. How would I get out, how would I get my kids out. Scary.
3. That I'm not teaching my kids all that I should be. I was cooking up a storm by the time I was their age. Shame on me.

3 Goals

1. Make it through the holiday season while pregnant.
2. Have this baby before 2009!!
3. Get more scrapbooking done. Get closer to getting caught up.

3 Current Obsessions

1. I feel like I HAVE TO use those darn JoAnn's coupons or they are going to waste. Hmmm, what can I sew today?
2. Making sure this little guy inside me is kicking every day. I've been paying way more attention to this one.
3. Having that "mommy snack" after my kids are all in bed.

3 Random Surprising Facts About Me

1. Allie's not the only one who hasn't painted her toenails in a while. How am I supposed to reach down there these days? I did have a girl paint them yesterday while they were on a scavenger hunt for mutual though. I really need pedicure!! Which could be added to my "Joys" list, pedicures!
2. I was born in Poughkeepsie New York. Not many people know that. But we lived in Fishkill. Doesn't that sound nice.
3. I don't like to read. I really never have. Didn't like to read in school, barely read what I needed to in order to get by. I have read all the Harry Potter books and all the Twilight books. So if there's enough rave review I have been known to ignore all household stuff and read. Really weird I know.

I'll tag Dyana, Joy and Laci

Pumpkin Muffins, Dirt and an Angry Bee

That was my day!! I got up unusually early for a Saturday at 7am. Alex has a tractor here this weekend to dig out a strip on the side of our yard to put in a gravel drive to park the boat and other stuff. So I thought I would make muffins early. The kids and I also had to be at the church by 9am for a Primary Program practice. I was pretty proud of myself for getting the muffins done. Usually I would rather just sleep in on a Saturday. It helps that I recently got a new stove/oven, which I love!! Anyway, the muffins were yummy!!

My had a evergreen tree in her front yard that they cut down quite a while ago. It was in the middle of the yard in a little garden. Well, the stump has been there since the tree was cut down and it's been driving her crazy. My Dad was the one who wanted to get rid of the tree because he was worried about it falling over in a wind storm or something resulting in water mains braking. So the tree came down. Alex told my Mom that the next time he had a tractor at our house that he would pull out the stump for her. So when I called her this morning at 8:30am and told her we had the tractor she was excited to get that stump out!! I think it took a little longer than they planned but they got it out. For all the little kids, what could be more fun than playing in all that dirt! They had so much fun pulling out roots and rocks. They spent the entire day there, riding big wheels, playing in the dirt and drawing with chalk on the driveway.

The boys did the funniest thing!!! As the adults were sitting at the top of the driveway we looked down and Mason had hooked this huge chain the men were using to pull the stump out, to the pedal of a big wheel. With the other end he had it hooked on a root. With all the kids holding onto this massive chain and Mason on the big wheel they pulled the root out of the ground. They were hilarious!! They were doing exactly what they saw the grownups doing.

Later in the evening before it got dark I was sitting outside and I felt something on my shoulder. I went to flick it away and then noticed that it was really stinging. I heard bees buzzing and figured I just got stung. Then I was really paranoid about the bees. I could still hear one or two. Then I started running my fingers through my hair and realized the reason I still heard a bee was because there was one stuck in my hair, and he proceeded to sting me again!! How dare he!! So now, a good hour later, my shoulder hurts and my head hurts. I don't think I've been stung by a bee since I was a little girl. It really does sting!!! I had Alex check and the stinger was still in my head so he pulled that out for me. I don't want to wear a shirt because it rubs right on the sting. How annoying!!! I hope I don't sting all night. I already have a hard time sleeping as is these days.

2 Projects

Okay, here's the deal. Since I read a few scrapbooking blogs I realized that I am actually tackling two different projects. There's the one from Stacy Julian that I mentioned and then there's a different one for the "week in life" that actually came from Ali Edwards. You can see all the fun little albums that people have made here. I think it will be fun to look back and see. I noticed that someone took a picture of gas prices from a gas station. It'll be interesting to see later on where gas prices are and where they were.

Okay, that didn't work!

So that last post got totally screwed up! Pictures not where I want them, words not where I want them. I'm not exactly sure what I did wrong but it looks horrible. Sorry for that. I tried to fix it but it does nothing so you'll all have to live with it.

My Wednesday

Okay, so I didn't get it done last night, too much going on around bed time, then I got to watching the Presidential Debate. So here it is.

7:45am-Drop off Harley at school then back home for the rest of the kids.
8:30am-Here's Mason walking to where his class lines up, and the view from my car as I pull up to the drop off zone
8:40am-Arrive at Spencer's preschool early. He doesn't have to be there until 9:00am so it gives me a chance to put my make-up on in the car before we go in. Why drive home only to be there for 10 minutes and have to leave again. It takes that long just to get Spencer in the car and wait for him to buckle up. :)

Spencer killing time checking for gum disease while I get my make-up done. Funny boy. He loves to come sit in the front seat!!
9:00am-Spencer finally gets to go into preschool. Every day he has to stop in the preschool office and give Mrs. Jones a big hug. She's the preschool director and she's awesome! She has a few grand kids so she totally eats it up. And on most days he also has to go down the hall to give Mrs. Rosbach a hug also. She was his teacher last year and she loves to see her "old" kids.

After I took Spencer in and have him a hug and kiss I went back out to the car to get my camera. I sat behind a shelf for about 10 minutes while he worked on puzzles. He didn't see me. I was trying to get a picture of him sticking out his tongue while he was concentrating. It's hilarious! Never did get it.
After leaving preschool I had a couple errand to run, which I forgot to take pictures of. Craft Warehouse to get some paper for a project I was helping Jill with. Perused the isles of Target and left empty handed. Then I decided since I didn't have any kids with me I would go into Pier 1. I never go in there, usually have kids or don't have the time. Left empty handed there also.
11:25am- Quickly pick up Spencer from Preschool and get out of there as FAST as I can. Hurry back to Jason Lee to pick up Mason when he gets out 11:35am.
Phew, we made it! Home for lunch but I have to make room on the counter so the dishes need to be done.
PBJ, yum. Alex is glad he's not home for this great lunch. I wish I was at work with Alex to have something better. :)

12:30ish- Pick up and vacuum living room while boys play outside. Luckily it's been nice out still. They love to play in the back yard! Good old dirt! Plus throw in a load of laundry. Get a chance to sit at the computer for a bit. Throw in another load of laundry, fold the first. Take dishes out of dishwasher.

3:40pm-Back to Jason Lee to pick up Cierra from after school Marimba.
4:00pm-Head over to Cheif Jo for Harley's volleyball game. Today I don't have any extra kids so I get to watch the game and take pictures but pictures in the gym are hard. I should have taken the better camera! Oh ya, they won!
There was a gal sitting behind us that commented that Spencer was a cutie! Of course she's right. Then when the game was over she made anther comments about how "stinkin' cute" he was and that I had better watch out for him. I know! I think Spencer knows how cute he is and uses that!

Goofy Spencer in the car after the game. What a ham!
After the game everyone hangs out doing their own thing while I fix dinner in a hurry before Harley has to leave for Mutual at 7:00.

Mason doing what he loves, playing his Nintendo DS.

Spencer watching Monsters Inc.

Harley trying to make a dent in her homework pile before Mutual.

After dinner Harley's off to Mutual. Then I have to pin Mason down to get his homework done. Cierra's in her favorite spot to watch tv...my bed!
8:30pm-Harley's home from Mutual and trying to get all her homework done.
Story time for Mason and Spencer
Nightlty good night call to Alex
9:00pm-Boys in bed, late.
Girls are still up. Harley's still working on homework and Cierra has a hard time going to bed when Harley's not there.
10:00pm- By now the girls are in bed and I start watching the replay of the Presidential Debate. I only watched half of it and turned off the tv. I have it recorded thanks to DVR!!
What a day!

A week in my life

So there's this huge thing going on in blog world. I'm a little late in the game! Stacy Julian from Simple Scrapbooks has made a challenge for scrappers and bloggers to make a little album of a week in your life, plus more. Here's the link to her site where you can read about it if you haven't heard. You have to scroll down to the beginning of October.
All day I've been snapping pictures. At least I'll have one day in my life documented if I don't get the whole week done (I'm going to try and get a couple pictures each day). So later tonight I'll get all these picture on here about my day, which is pretty typical these days. I haven't taken many pictures lately so I need to get my 10 pictures and get that little book done.

One more picture

Another Mom from Mason's class took this picture of the boys and me. I really like it! And I don't usually like pictures of myself. It's a little scratchy looking because she actually gave me the picture today (wow, she's efficient) so I had to scan it. I need to ask her to email it to me. But I still like it!

Day at the Zoo. I mean...Pumpkin Patch

What a crazy morning!! Mason and all his classmates loaded the school bus and headed out to Pasco to visit the Country Mercantile. They have really fun things for school kids to do. Mostly it's just preschool and kindergarten kids that come. Then there's the families that come at night and on the weekends. The problem is that they are becoming so popular that I think they are taking advantage of that. There must have been at least 4 school buses there today. There were kids EVERYWHERE!!!! From Jason Lee we had two classes, close to 50 kids! The kids were supposed to stay with their group, the same group they sit with at school. We all know what happens when you get a bunch of excited kids to a place like that, group, what group? Plus keeping track of what class kids were in was a little difficult also.

Of course the kids had a great time. They have huge hay pyramid for the kids to climb on, a hay maze made out of hay bales, a small barn with animals to pet and then of course the tractor pulled hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. The kids are instructed that they have to pick a pumpkin that they can carry by themselves. Quite a few kids need reminding of that rule, including my son! I kept telling him that we would come as a family with Daddy and he could get a big pumpkin then.

The kids were also given a snack while they were there, a cookie and some kind of juice. I was just so hard to keep all those kids together. In fact, one little girl towards the end picked up her pumpkin from the pile and proceeded to walk to the bus. Then when we were checking all our groups we found she was missing. Luckily there's enough staff there with radios that they were all on it and found her in no time, walking to the bus. But that's what happens when they cram so many kids in one day!!

Getting pictures proved to be a little difficult with all the chaos. So these aren't real great.

Spencer with his perfect pumpkin.

Let's feed a bunch of kids sugar cookies and juice. :)
Mason was the first to make it out of the hay bale maze.
Mason with his small pumpkin, yet notice how much larger it is than the couple around him?
Spencer had no problem reaching right in to pet animals.
And the pig? Just had to take his picture.

Spencer on the hay pyramid (top). Mason at the top of the pyramid. He was the first one up there too.
