Why is purple so difficult?

The hunting gang

Are there other people that have such a hard time with purple on layouts?  This was a bit overkill but oh well.  I have a picture and I told about the event and I’m leaving it.  Smile  I played around with some gesso on this page.  The hardest thing for me is waiting for stuff to dry.  That’s probably why I haven’t played with many wet things like gesso and molding paste.  Mist I can dry quickly so it doesn’t bother me so much.  I spread some gesso on the base of this LO then used my heat gun to help it dry quicker.  Then I used some Smooch Spritz on a foam brush to add the purple.  Don’t totally love it, that’s why most of it got covered up.  I’m trying to just leave things and not stress about it.

Supplies:  Papers from Fancy Pants, Stampin Up and Bazzill.  Washi tape from Recollections, Queen & Co, Target, Pick Your Plum, Darice, MME, Scotch and K & Company.  Enamel dots from MME. Simple Stories alphas.  Brads from SEI.

Easter Flash Back.

Hello eggs

It’s really hard for me not to include every Easter egg coloring photo on a layout about coloring eggs.  I really resisted this time and I’m loving this layout.

Supplies.  Paper is from Simple Stories.  “hello” the small arrow and the eggs were cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  Thickers by American Crafts.  Enamel dots from MME.  Tattered Angels and Miter Huey’s spray.

Preschool Fun!

Carter has been asking me for over a year “when are you signing me up for school?”  He has been itching to start school!!  His wish finally came true!  Monday was his first “full” afternoon of preschool.  He came home so excited about all the fun things he gets to do.  Paint, sing songs, play outside, read books…..the list goes on and on.  He acts like an old pro.  Walks in, gets his name tag, washes his hands and he’s off playing without hardly a word or a look back at me.  It kind of makes me happy and sad at the same time.  But don’t worry!!  Mom is enjoying her time alone too!

A couple projects from his first day.

Child’s Play Challenge. Blue’s Clues

I finally jumped on board and played along with a challenge over at Child’s Play

When my girls were little we watched Blue’s Clues quite a bit.  It was always a happy, colorful show.  That was one of the things that inspired me on this layout.  The show used lots of colors, bold colors and patterns.  I even got the green stripe in there from Steve’s shirt!  And it wouldn’t be complete without some blue polka dots!

Needing a change.

Do you sometimes feel like you get in a rut?  Keep doing the same things over and over and don’t like it?  That’s kind of how I’ve been feeling.  A couple months ago I hopped onto the Two Peas In a Bucket website for whatever reason and came across their video tutorials.  Now these videos have been around for a while but I was just finding them.  I was in love!!  Lots of different types of scrappers sharing how they put together their layouts.  I started watching at night when I was having my snuggle time with Carter.  I couldn’t get enough!   I was feeling so inspired to create something new and different from what I normally do.  I think in general I’m a pretty simple scrapper but wanted to try something different.  This is the first page that I created after watching dozens of videos.  I’m totally loving it!  This page has so many more things, layers, details then I normally put on a page.  I’m learning!  Smile  I’ve always had an issue with pages that have so much going on and the photo gets lost.  I feel like I’ve done a great job of letting the photo shine in this layout.

A tiny bit scary

But not TOO scary.  Just a few Halloween layouts.  I think “Pumpkin Head” is my favorite just because of the photo.  Perfect pumpkin placement in front of his face.

The Girls

Ok, see!  I DO make layouts about the girls.  Taylor Swift aka Cieralove you with all me

The rest of the layouts.

Here is the other group of layouts that I made while in Wenatchee.  I think this is probably the most layouts I’ve completed while I was there.  Very productive weekend!  Still missing layouts for my girls, wish they would cooperate better when my camera is in my hand.  LOL

All about Carter

Clearly I need to work on taking more photos and making more layouts of my other kids.  I think it all evens out in the end, at least I hope so!  All of these layouts of Carter I made while I was in Wenatchee at my scrapbooking girls weekend.  This was the third year and it’s always so fun!

Football has begun!

Well actually Mason started football a few weeks ago, before school started.  Today Mason had his first football game.  It’s always fun to watch him play.

I’m not always great about getting scrapbook pages done about my kids sports but I DO take photos!  These couple of LO’s were made from last season’s photos.

This is one of those layouts that I wasn’t sure where it was going when I made it but I love the way it turned out.  Most of the products on this page are from Echo Park.  The washi tape is from Queen & Co and I believe Target.  The background patterned paper might be from Basic Grey but I could be wrong.

Boys of Summer

Boys of SummerSadly, I made this LO a while ago and can’t remember who all the supplies came from.  Pattern Paper is from Echo Park.  And I’m pretty sure the alphas for “summer” are from Simple Stories Oh Snap.

A little about Frodo

I want thatFrodo

It’s been a while.

Wow, where did the time go?  So many things going on since I last posted.  Christmas, Carter’s Birthday, kitchen remolding, new flooring, new job for Alex, club volleyball for Cierra, a new nephew, baseball for Mason and Spencer, Science Fair, Mason and Spencer’s Birthdays, Camp Wooten, running the Book Fair, school softball for Cierra, summer softball for Cierra, another new job for Alex, end of the school year, a trip to Missouri for a wedding, Pioneer Trek for Harley and Cierra, camping, summer activities, swim team for the boys, scrapbooking weekend for me, boating adventures, more camping, and school starting!  Phew!  I think I got everything in there. And now there’s now way I can catch up on all of that.  But I’ll share a few photos and hopefully keep up from now on.  Sorry, but the pictures are not all in order.
